YTDM Facilitation Training (Sioux City)

This training assists child welfare workers with understanding the youth driven family team decision making meeting process so potential facilitators can be coached in YTDM meeting facilitation to utilize in guiding and developing the youth’s plan. THIS IS A TWO-DAY TRAINING!

*Prerequisite* You will need to observe a YTDM meeting prior to attending this training.

TRAINERS:
Katie Henniges - Katie Henniges has over 23 years of experience in the human service field and has been employed with Families First since June 2005. Katie provides support and direction to supervisors and direct care staff through group and individual supervision to ensure quality services are being delivered to those families served by Families First. Katie is a Trainer for Child Safety Conferences and is an approved statewide Trainer Solution Focused Meeting and Youth Transition Decision Making Meetings. Katie has also facilitated trainings in partnership with the Iowa Department of Human Services for supervisors and direct care staff across Iowa. These topics have included but are not limited to: Family Interactions, Engaging Non-Custodial Parents in Child Welfare, Placement Stability and Quality Case Visits in Child Welfare.
Kodi Baughman - Kodi obtained an AS degree in Human Services at DMACC and graduated from Upper Iowa University with his bachelor's Degree in Human Services. Kodi's lived experience in foster care inspired him to help others through his personal story to create change in the system and give youth a chance to be heard. He strives to effectively impact practice and policies relating to children & families. Kodi served as a facilitator for Breakthrough Series Collaborative and a certified Family/Youth Team Decision Meeting Facilitator for the State of Iowa. Kodi is a member of the Iowa Cultural Equity Alliance, National Foster Care Youth & Alumni Policy Council, and has worked extensively with Foster Care Alumni of American to elevate the youth voice across multiple systems. Kodi is a Management Consultant for Public Knowledge, Your Catalyst for Change. They are a national management consulting firm that exists to help clients solve challenging problems and thrive in complex situations. They expertly blend the science and art of systems, programs, and people to achieve continued improvements long after our engagement.
 

Registration will begin at 8:30AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Thursday is scheduled until 4:00pm. Lunch is on your own.
Friday will begin promptly at 9:00am and is scheduled until 12:00pm. Breakfast will be provided on Friday.
 ALTERNATIVE DATES FOR THIS TRAINING ARE FEBRUARY 2 & 3, 2023. TIMES WILL REMAIN THE SAME.

Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the current DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the current DHS child welfare services contract, you may be bumped from the course and placed on a wait list.
