A client in a heig htened state can exhibit challenging behaviors while also being a safety ri sk for those around them. This course will start to understand behaviors th at may lead to a heightened state while share learning to identify situatio ns may lead to de-escalation. Participants will learn to identify reactions to keep calm and remove oneself from a situation to maintain safety for al l.
LOCATI ON INFO: Z oom Trainer: Billy Claywell - Billy W.Claywell, LMSW has been in the human service field since 1 988. He has worked as an in-home service provider, supervisor of a family p reservation project, administrator of a family and children’s program, gran t writer, and is currently the Clinical Director for Corinthian House and p rovides therapy for their residents.Registration will begin at 8:30 AM. Training will start promptly at 9:00 AM. This training is scheduled until 12pm.
Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the curerent DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Res idential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emerge ncy Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partn ers; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the current DHS child welfare services contract, you may be bumped f rom the course and placed on a wait list.
