Trauma & Resilience (Virtual)

This training helps participants recognize trauma, understand its impact on the brain and body, and identify and apply interventions to trauma related behaviors. This course is meant to provide foundational information on trauma for anyone that is new to the topic or would like a refresher on trauma basics.

 

Intended Audience:

  • Family Centered Services worker (FCS), Residential workers (QRTP, Shelter, and Supervised Apartment Living (SAL))
    • Beginner (less than 1-2 years of experience), Intermediate
    • Direct Care/Front-Line Staff, Supervisors

OBJECTIVES:

-Define trauma, traumatic stress, toxic stress, and resilience
-Identify how trauma affects behavior and development
-Apply intervention skills to respond to stress
-Discover factors that promote resilience

TRAINERS:
Javier Castellote - is the Trauma-Informed Initiatives Program Manager at Project Harmony. He is an accomplished bilingual instructional designer, trainer, and educator skilled in developing and delivering content aimed at improving skills and knowledge necessary for effective work and career performance. Track record of strong communication and engagement among young and adult learners. Focused on analyzing and assessing organizational learning needs and implementing learning experiences by utilizing best practices, effective design models, and instructional technology to drive outcomes. 

Registration will begin at 8:30AM. Training will begin promptly at 9:00AM. This training is scheduled until 11am.

Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the current DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the current DHS child welfare services contract, you may be bumped from the course and placed on a wait list.
