A client in a heightened state can exhibit challenging behaviors while also being a safety risk for those around them. This course will start to understand behaviors that may lead to a heightened state while share learning to identify situations may lead to de-escalation. Participants will learn to identify reactions to keep calm and remove oneself from a situation to maintain safety for all.LOCATION INFO:2240 S. Ankeny Blvd

(2240 S Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny) Once you get close to the DCI Lab building, you will see a white ranch house with the numbers 2260 on the front. TRAINERS: Billy Claywell Registration will begin at 12:30PM. Training will begin promptly at 1:00PM and end at 4pm. Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the curerent DHS child welfare service contracts, including: Family Centered Services (FCS); Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) / Group Foster Care; Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council.
