Relias Learning Portal Access

Any child welfare provider in Iowa is eligible to request access to the Relias learning platform. Through CWPTA funding, the Coalition currently supports up to 600 active training participants at any given time. Each participating organization designates a Relias Administrator who manages their internal staff accounts, including enrolling new employees and removing inactive users as needed.

Training Opportunities

Once enrolled, users have access to a comprehensive library of courses designed to support professional development, onboarding, compliance, and best practice implementation. Examples of available course topics include:

  • Foundational training for new direct care staff

  • Required annual trainings (such as CPR, Mandatory Reporter, HIPAA, fire safety, bloodborne pathogens, sexual harassment, cultural competency)

  • Evidence-based approaches to treatment planning

  • Self-care and workforce well-being

  • Juvenile justice and court-related procedures

  • Best practices for direct care providers

  • Mental health diagnosis education and treatment strategies

  • Substance use and opioid-related supports

  • Escorting and transporting youth

  • Crisis planning and harm-reduction approaches

  • Domestic violence awareness and response

  • HIV, Hepatitis, and infectious disease education

Training Experience & Continuing Education

Courses are available 24/7 and can be completed at the learner’s own pace. Participants may browse the course library, complete assigned modules, take assessments, and download certificates of completion at any time.

Many Relias courses qualify for CEU credits. Participants are responsible for submitting their certificates directly to the appropriate credentialing or licensing entity to receive credit.
