What Is YIPA?

The Coalition for Family & Children’s Services in Iowa proudly offers Youth Intervention Programs Assistance (YIPA) to residential child welfare providers across the state. This service is designed to enhance the effectiveness of youth-focused programs by providing tailored resources, training, and advocacy support.

Why YIPA?

Child welfare providers play a vital role in shaping the future of Iowa’s youth. YIPA ensures these providers have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to deliver impactful services that address the unique challenges young people face today.

Through YIPA’s certificate programs, professionals can deepen their skills and strengthen their practice through structured, meaningful learning opportunities. YIPA currently offers the following certificates:

  • The Art and Science of Youth Work Certificate, which builds foundational and advanced skills for engaging, supporting, and empowering young people.

  • People-Centered Leadership Certificate, which focuses on developing leadership practices that prioritize relationships, collaboration, and values-driven decision-making.

These certificates support workforce development, promote effective and responsive services, and help providers create positive, lasting outcomes for youth and families.
