Vision Council Workgroups
The Vision council utilizes the Results Based Accountability model in each of its workgroups to complete the strategies identified to make the vision a reality. Each of the workgroups: North Star, Older Youth, and Substance Use Disorder, study data to identify and address intersectional issues for our focus populations. We collaborate with providers, advocates, and state leaders to create system-level solutions. Through a Results Based Accountability (RBA) model, the Vision Council identified technical and adaptive change, that if addressed could support the successful implementation of the Family First Prevention Services Act, creating an environment to achieve the Vision: Families and children in Iowa are safe & secure, healthy & well in their communities.
Substance Use Disorder Workgroup: Focuses on the interconnectivity of substance use disorders and child maltreatment to better support families struggling with substance use disorders and their children 10 and younger.
2021-2023 Meetings
Older Youth Workgroup: Focuses on the systemic inequities that need to be dismantled for Iowa youth of color (ages 10 and older) and their families who experience risk factors and system inequities that put them at greater risk of involvement in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
2021-2023 Meetings
North Star Workgroup: Focuses on the root cause of financial instability and housing insecurity that led to families being involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. This group created a one-pager of current housing work to share publicly.
